CRB is a repository of all the creative things that float through my mind about the RPG Pathfinder. Two major features are random character generation and building characters based on the god they worship. Anything that seems like it adds to the creative aspects of the game will pop up from time to time, including location descriptions, adventure ideas and even short stories. CRB won't just be my own creativity, it will open the floor to anyone who has an idea sparked by what I present to you.

Random Roll 52 - The Randomness

How does a Chelaxian of obvious Azlanti descent end up in the deserts of Osirian? Where does the blood of a Werecrocodile start its journey into her family tree? What does her lack of wisdom mean? Is she forgetful? Or maybe oblivious? What class does a charismatic crocodilian take?

Because it went over well I have kept the harrow reading. I will work it into my character but if you don’t want to you do not need to. Let’s see who’s up to the challenge.

Harrow Reading

We read the cards in the cross pattern.  Card one being where the character came from, card two an important event in the characters life, card three represents a talent the character will have , and card four represents where the character is going. Surrounded by the signifier that represents the character.

Signifier card: The Theater (neutral good, Charisma) is the card of true rophecy. The puppets act out a scene, just as the prophet acts out a scene in which she has no part. The prophet is the audience and the prophecy is the show. She has no influence on what she sees, and its importance is often not recognized until too late.

Card one: The Publican (chaotic good, Wisdom) represents fellowship and camaraderie, and a place of refuge for those in need. Most would find the cyclops inconsequential, but he has insights relevant to the reading or a quest..

Card Two: The Crows (neutral evil, Dexterity) are a dangerous bunch who indicate violent taking of that which is loved. When The Crows appear, murder, theft, or other shocking loss occurs.

Card Three: The Juggler (chaotic good, Dexterity) represents fate, the gods, or those who play with the lives and destinies of others. If this titanic Juggler can keep up his rhythm, he will achieve his goals.

Card Four: The Avalanche (lawful evil, Dexterity) is disaster. It is an unthinking, unreasoning thing that overruns all who get in its way. It can represent physical disaster or the disaster that comes from a panicked crowd or other unthinking group or entity.

In the comments please tell us what character you would make with these disparate pieces information? What class would this Skinwalker naturally gravitate towards? Who is this worshiper Lythertida, The Voiceless Tragedy? And don’t forget to stay tuned Friday when my background hits the CRB.

  1. EVERYTHING about her screams bloodrager to me, so....:

Eliana came from a family of traveling bards and her early training looked for her to go that way herself. While they weren't rich, they had a small following in the lower districts and made enough to live a modest life.

When she was 15 she was out with a boy for most of the day, On her way home they were accosted by a large man; the boy was killed and taken to be the prisoner of a mad alchemist who did odd experiments on her for days.

He released her, though, and confused she wandered home where she was met by her upset parents who had assumed she ran off with the boy. Shaken from her captivity and greeted by anger rather than comfort, she yelled back and something inside her broke--she transformed into a huge crocodile and killed her parents.
    ---------------------------------
For years she went into a self-imposed exile in the swamp where "a monster like herself belonged". She thought she was cursed and alternately blamed herself for what happened and cursed the gods for such a cruel fate, but one day she met another like herself who could change his shape (though his shape was significantly less ferocious than her own). He helped her to stop fearing her changes and even to control them. He helped her find peace, and together they returned to society.

She now works at a mage school, helping gifted sorcerers and sorceresses channel their gifts, and occasionally travels with them into the field where she is their protector against threats they are not ready to face. She is FIERCELY loyal to her husband and her students, but is ALWAYS careful to get herself away from the students should her temper be tested, lest they see her lose her temper.

In her off-time, though, she searches for word of abductions or the mad alchemist who did whatever he did to her, and when she finds him, he will face the full fury of what he made...

Ellana is a crossblooded bloodrager (aberrant and abyssal -- at 8th, 16th, and 20th levels she takes the aberrant ability, at 1, 4, and 12 she takes the abyssal abilities)

Short to anger and VERY susceptible to mind-altering abilities she is an absolute beast when she lets go (literally). Using the skinwalker feats Animal Shape and Improved Animal Shape in conjunction with her rage she becomes a Huge sized Dire Crocodile.

The Frightening Transformation trait lets her terrify one enemy that sees her shift (as well they ought to be), and Wild Healing lets her recover from her wounds at the cost of ending her rage (until 16th level....). At 11th level she takes Beastial Pounce. Besides this, she takes the normal feats for a natural-weapon fighter (power attack, improved natural weapon, weapon focus)

She has 4 ranks in perform juggle from her childhood, but now puts most of her effort into diplomacy, imtimidate, and knowledges nature and arcana

  2. Another good one. And you are becoming the benchmark for what the Friday characters can be. I'll give a hint an say I went in a complete different direction. Charisma based classes are the obvious choice Bard, Skald, Bloodrager, Orcale, Paladin, Sorcerer and Swashbuckler. But the she seemed lacking in melee ability so I went the other way.
